Katerina Kaostubhi

Katerina is a highly qualified passionate yoga instructor who has been practising a great variety of yoga styles just over 10 years. She is also a very experienced intensive care nurse with a great knowledge of body anatomy and body functions.

Katerina completed her first 200hr teacher training course with Himalayan Yoga Institute, where she respectfully received her professional yoga name Kaostubhi. Her yoga journey has continued and she further gained 200hr teacher training with Teach Yoga School in London. This training provided extensive knowledge about the anatomy and physiology concentrating on a proper body alignment and body mechanics. Thanks to this course, Katerina discovered a passion to teach intelligent powerful classes with a strong focus on a body precision and a body awareness. She extended this course and completed BWY 500hrs yoga teacher training with Yoga Therapist and Pilates Teacher, Elena Voyce PhD. Katerina’s thirst for knowledge gave her a chance to also become a Certified Instructor of the Oxygen Advantage Techniques. These include powerful breathing methods to exceed your personal best, improve your sports performance and cure asthma and other respiratory disorders. The discovery about the power of breath took her back to India where she completed a 200hr yoga teacher training in Prana Kriya Yoga with Yogi Ashokananada School. She also attended and successfully completed 10 day course of Vipassana Kriya Meditation.

TEACHING STYLE

Katerina’s teaching philosophy is that yoga can benefit to all body types; “If you can breathe, you can do yoga”. The core of her classes focuses on breath, while leading students through a series of asanas. Her teaching is based on the original Hatha Yoga Pradipika concept combined with Power, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Rocket and Prana Kriya Yoga. The sequence and intensity of the class vary in accordance with students’ experience, intention, energy and prowess.

Katerina’s intention is to help her students, to discover through yoga, how to feel content in the body and with the body no matter the shape or the physical ability. She also wants her students to find the infinite potential to do things, discover peace within and to overall improve wellness in life.
